Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a patient at Ladybug Pediatrics?
Ladybug Pediatrics is a consultant pediatric practice. We require a referral for all patients from another physician.
What happens if I can’t make my scheduled appointment?
We require at least 24 hours notice for all cancelled appointments. Missed appointments or appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a cancellation fee.
Should I arrive early for my appointment?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to ensure that your child can be checked in, weighed and measured and any necessary paper work is done before your scheduled time.
Will medical students or trainees be seeing my child?
Ladybug Pediatrics is proud to be a teaching site for medical students and residents (doctors who are in training). Your child may see a medical student or resident during their visit, under the supervision of one of our pediatricians. Your child will always see a pediatrician for at least a portion of their appointment.
Is Ladybug Pediatrics wheelchair accessible?
Yes, Ladybug Pediatrics is located on the main floor of the Foothills Professional Building and is accessible.
My child has been seen by Ladybug Pediatrics in the past. Can I book a follow up appointment?
At your appointment, your pediatrician will discuss with you if and when follow up is required. If it has been more than 1 year since your last appointment, or you have a new concern with your child, a new referral will need to be made by a physician.
What is a locum pediatrician, and why is my child seeing one?
A locum pediatrician is a pediatrician who is filling in for one of our pediatricians in their absence. Locums are an integral part of our practice, in order to continue to provide the best possible care for our patients when we are away. They are chosen for their competence and the information and plans that were discussed during your appointment with them will be shared with your regular pediatrician.
Can I contact my pediatrician or Ladybug Pediatrics by email?
Protecting your child’s information is very important to us, and so we don’t use email to communicate patient results, or to gather forms or information about your child. If you have a question, or need to get a form or report to your pediatrician, please call, mail, drop off or fax us.
